Hey, I’m Ruchira! I’m a Sri Lankan-born Aussie biologist who’s all about reptiles—especially how they’re adapting to our ever-changing world. Outside my full-time gig as a scientist and an academic, I try to shine a light on the not-so-glamorous wildlife out. You know, the ones that don’t usually get much love – the slimy, scaly and scary ones are my favourites. I talk about why they matter, the tough challenges they face, and what we can do to help them out. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to do field research across five continents—often in some seriously remote and wild places. This channel is my passion project, especially for my fellow Sri Lankans. It’s a way to share a peek into my adventures and fieldwork, while also spreading real, science-based info about wildlife, their homes, and why they’re worth caring about.
